Eltec Pyroelectric Detectors (Sensors)
Eltec Pyroelectric Detectors are thermal detectors and respond almost linearly to a very wide spectrum of radiation. The sensing element is a thin pyroelectric lithium-tantalate crystal, that is suspended in air for maximum sensitivity and low frequency response.

Eltec Model 400 contains only Sensing Element
standard size of Eltec detector 400 sensing crystal is 2mm round. Other dimensions are available
  • Basic pyroelectric Detector. Good low frequency response
  • Only sensing crystal. No amplifier included.
  • Ideal for experimental applications that do not require lowest possible S/N, such as low power Laser detection
  • Ideal for wide spectrum detection X-Ray - UV - Visible - IR - Far-IR
 Eltec pyroelectric detector model 400. Contains only lithium tantalate crystal. The package is TO39

Model 404 Series Laboratory Grade Detectors with VM/CM Amplifier
  • Highest performance single element detectors.
  • Choice of voltage-mode and current-mode amplifier.
  • Electrical access to the sensing element (crystal).
  • Load/feedback resistors and frequency response can be altered with external resistors.
  • Electronics are shielded from incident light. Operation possible with transparent windows.
  • Ideal for laboratory use and product development, to define a suitable detector.
Due to the direct access pins to the sensing element and internal circuit, these detectors are not suitable for industrial production. 		Eltec pyroelectric detector series 404 are the higest performance devices available. The package is TO5

Model 406 Series Industrial Single Element Detectors with FET Amplifier
For very low frequency (0.1 to 5 Hz) temperature sensing and object detection.
Model 406-X
A very universal detector. Use only with windows that block visible light. 		Model 406M39-X

Model 481-X
in small TO18 package for compact sensor heads.

Model 406 Series. Optimized for Flame Detection and Gas Analysis
in the 5 to 10 Hz Frequency range. Due to the lack of low frequency response, they deliver a more stable output signal. Built in FET amplifier.
Available with our gas filters, broadband windows or customer supplied filters.
Model 40612-X
2x2mm sensing element for focussed systems.
Model 40623-X
2.5x2.5mm sensing element for non focussed systems
 A sensing area of 2 mm square is ideal for gas analyzers with a focussed beam
A sensing area of 2.5mm square is the largest size available in the TO39 package to catch a maximum of energy over a wide angle for flame detectors. 		Model 406MBK-X

Model 441 Series High Gain Single Element Detectors
These detectors include an amplifier with a gain of appx. 100. This eliminates the need for electronics close to the detector. They can be connected directy to a cable. Ideal for industrial sensors. Wide operating temperature range.

Model 407 Series Thermally Compensated Single Element Detectors
These detectors have a compensating element behind the sensing element, that reduces the effect of ambient temperature changes by a factor of appx. 10.
This is very practical in many industrial applications, but they do not reach the performance (detectivity) of single element devices.
Model 407-X
A very universal detector. Use only with windows that block visible light.
With FET amplifier.
Model 405-X
with higher gain FET amplifier. 		Eltec 407 has two sensing crystals of 1x2.5mm each, one on top of the other, with only the front one exposed to radiation. The rear one is for temperature compensation. Model 407M56-43

Model 407M24-X
3mm square sensing element.
Model 405M6-X
2.5mm square sensing element and higher gain FET amplifier. 		Eltec Model 407M24 has a large 3mm square sensing area. Viewing angle is somewhat reduced.
2.5 mm square combines large sensing area with wide vewing angle 		Eltec compensated pyroelectric sensors in TO39 package are available with different sensing crystal sizes.
Model 482-X
in small TO18 package for compact sensor heads.

Model 446 Series High Gain Thermally Compensated Single Element
These detectors include an amplifier with a gain of appx. 100 and have a compensating element. This eliminates the need for electronics close to the detector. They can be connected directy to a cable. Ideal for industrial sensors. Wide operating temperature range.

2 sensing elements side-by-side connected in parallel-opposed (differential) mode. These detectors need optics (focussing lens or mirror).Typical application is motion detection (alarm systems). There is no output from background radiation.

for professional alarm systems. Internal FET amplifier.
